The Christian Singles Info-exchange
COMMON QUESTIONS
& ANSWERS
QUESTION-1: As a member, can I keep my name and address confidential?
ANSWER: YES. Members who wish to keep their Contact Information confidential may do so by checking the appropriate box on the Profile Questionnaire, in the section titled "Contact Information".
QUESTION-2: What is the "selection process?"
ANSWER: The selection process is an organized method of searching through large amounts of information about other members, to find a person with whom you will likely be "companionable." Both male and female members make selections. (NOTE: Only FULL and UNLIMITED members make selections. LIMITED members may only be selected by other members.)
QUESTION-3: How Does the Selection Process Work?
ANSWER: To make a selection, you begin by first listing the age-range that you find acceptable. Since, in most cases, it would take too long to read the profiles of all the members in a given age range, the next step is to exclude from that list, all members whom you are obviously not interested in. Some common "ABSOLUTE EXCLUSIONS" are: religious denomination, race, children, and responses to "Values and Attitudes" questions. Each exclusion causes your list of remaining members to get smaller and smaller.
You also have the option of listing "FLEXIBLE PREFERENCE EXCLUSIONS". Some common flexible exclusions include: education, music preferences, geographic location, hobbies, etc. Members with the characteristics that you list as "flexible" are excluded only if an abundance of members remain on your list.
Your "List-of-Finalists" usually contains from three to ten members. If there are MORE THAN TEN members remaining on your list, WE SEND YOU THE TEN NEAREST MEMBER PROFILES, BASED ON POSTAL ZIP CODES.
Your next step is to study the detailed printout of each member on your List-of-Finalists. During this evaluation process, your selection decisions are made.
QUESTION-4: What happens after I make a selection from my List-of-Finalists?
ANSWER: A Selection Notice is mailed to the person who is selected. This notice includes all the information that you have given us on YOUR Profile Questionnaire, as well as a Response Card and printed instructions on how to proceed. (The method of direct contact to each other is dependent on what Contact Information each of you released to each other on your Profile Questionnaire.)The person who made the selection is mailed a Confirmation Notice, which includes the Selected member's Released Contact Information.
QUESTION-5: Is the selected member required to meet the member who selected them?
ANSWER: NO. All that is required is that each member treat all other members in a courteous manner. Selected members ARE expected to give a response, either positive, negative, or an "I want more information" response, to the member who selected them. However, knowing that we are structured to match companionable persons, the selected member will likely be as interested in meeting you, as you are in meeting them.
QUESTION-6: Can I make additional selections? How many?
ANSWER: There is no limit to the number of selections a FULL or UNLIMITED member can make. However, all members are limited to making THREE SELECTIONS IN EVERY TWO-WEEK PERIOD. You may continue to make selections as long as you are a FULL or UNLIMITED member. (LIMITED members may not make selections), FULL members pay a $15 info-exchange fee for each selection made, and UNLIMITED members make all selections free-of-charge.
QUESTION-7: What about photographs?
ANSWER: At least one studio head & shoulders photograph is recommended but not required. When you send in your profile questionnaire responses, you may include any photograph, of any size. We will scan your photograph and include it with your profile information. (Our use of Copyrighted photographs is subject to our obtaining a release from the copyright holder. Normally this is not a problem.) Over 90% of our members include a photograph with their Profile. IT DOES NOT COST EXTRA TO PUT YOUR PHOTOGRAPH ON YOUR PROFILE.
QUESTION-8: Does CSI sponsor any entertainment functions?
ANSWER: NO. CSI is an information exchange only. We do not sponsor meetings nor get-togethers. Our members meet each other through the selection process, either by selecting another member or by being selected by another member.
QUESTION-9: Does CSI offer any help in dating arrangements?
ANSWER: NO. The Christian Singles Info-exchange is an information exchange only; we are not a dating service. Dating is a personal matter, and is handled privately and individually by our members themselves.
QUESTION-10: I am concerned about the geographic locations of your members. In addition to other requirements, I am only interested in members who live near me. What assurance do you have that I won't be wasting my money by joining a nation-wide group?"
ANSWER: Currently, the largest block of members in The Christian Singles Info-exchange is in the mid-west. This is simply because we started out in Wichita, Kansas, at Wichita State University, about eleven years ago and grew from there.
However, we are growing nation-wide, with a steady and positive annual growth in EVERY STATE in the USA. Our fastest growth is in the eastern and western coastal states, and in high population areas everywhere.
Due to concerns about the geographic location of our members, we have instituted a membership guarantee. For details see
MEMBERSHIP GUARANTEE! …A GUARANTEE OF "3".
NOTE: To take advantage of the guarantee for geographic reasons, be sure that you specify your acceptable geographic area in the narrative section of YOUR Profile Questionnaire. If we don't find at least three members, whom you decide to select, OR, if you are not selected by at least three members "who meet YOUR requirements as published on your Profile Questionnaire,"OR, a combination totaling three, than your membership year is completely FREE. In such a case, your entire membership credit is moved forward to another fresh year, with the same guarantee-of-three applying.
The only time your membership costs you anything, is when you are successful in using our system.
QUESTION-11: Why does CSI emphasize the "Rules of Homogamy?"
ANSWER: The Christian Singles Info-exchange is devoted to helping you find a partner with whom you can build a lifetime relationship. We offer a positive alternative to "meeting-by-chance." The "Rules of Homogamy" (also referred to as "Rules of Companionability")are the keys to a "natural friendship." We use them because we hope to increase your probability of a successful "happy" marriage. It is important to remember that a "natural friend" is someone with whom you would be friends, even outside of an opposite-gender-relationship. In other words someone who shares your values and attitudes, and understands your goals and background.
QUESTION-12: What phone number would I use to check CSI's record with the Better Business Bureau?
ANSWER: (316) 263-3146.
NOTE: You will need to key-in OUR telephone number, (316) 522-3900, in order to get information about our organization.
